Chassis Optimization for Mobile Drilling Platform
Chassis EngineeringThe client required a mobile drilling platform capable of operating on extremely uneven and unstable terrain, where the excessive rigidity of the conventional chassis led to structural cracks and loss of level. We designed a modular chassis with controlled articulation points and high-strength alloy steel beams to allow controlled torsional flexibility. Implementation included FEA simulations for stress analysis and prototyping of an equipment mounting system to isolate vibrations. The result was a 40% increase in chassis lifespan and a 60% reduction in platform calibration time on-site.
